Fused Glass Art Panel: Downy Junior

I enjoy watching the Downy and Hairy woodpeckers that visit to feed each day.  One spring after watching the parents feed their chicks, I was inspired to create this glass powder picture of one of the juveniles.

The studio-glass panel is approximately 12x9" and comes complete with its custom made hand-forged iron stand created by Blacksmith K.John Mason Ironworks of Blandford, Nova Scotia. The picture was created entirely using glass powders in a palette knife technique. The glass is not reversible with a definite front and back like a painting. One of a kind.
