Fused Glass Kingfisher – Hanging Ornament (Female)
Modelled after the female Belted Kingfisher (Megaceryle alcyon), this fused glass bird comes in steel blue and white tones with a distinctive chestnut band across the chest - the colouring unique to the female of the species.
Kingfishers are known for their sharp eyesight, rattling calls, and loyalty to local territory. Often spotted perching near lakes and coastal inlets, they’re highly sensitive to changes in habitat and water quality. This handmade glass version highlights the bird’s bold shape and distinctive markings.
Kiln-fused from coloured glass and threaded with clear monofilament, it’s ready to hang in a window, on a branch, or wherever you’d like a small reminder of shoreline wildlife.
Size: Approx. 4.5 in (adult)
Display: Threaded with clear, nearly invisible cord for hanging
Also available: Perched Kingfisher
A striking accent for nature lovers, birdwatchers, or those drawn to coastal themes and uncommon species.
