Arc of Glass
Inspired by the ever-changing colours and movement of the Atlantic, this Arc of Glass brings together beautiful shades of ocean blue and aqua green in a softly curved textured piece of handcrafted glass.
Designed to stand beautifully on its own, the arc catches the light and makes a lovely addition to a windowsill, shelf or table. It can also be used to add a little coastal character to a plant pot or as a decorative candle surround.
This design is a special return to a piece I first made around 10 years ago. Each one is shaped in the kiln over multiple firings, building up layers of blue glass alongside soft, chunky pieces of reclaimed glass from my other studio work. These off-cuts are reshaped and given a new life, creating a lovely mix of colour, shape and texture reminiscent of glass worn smooth by the sea.
No two pieces are quite the same. The colours and textures will vary, making each arc a little individual piece of ocean-inspired glass art to enjoy throughout the year.
A note about candles: If using with a candle, position the candle a short distance behind the glass. Glass should never be in direct contact with a flame or in close proximity of to high heat. A small battery-operated tealight is a safe alternative.
Size: Approximately 4" tall x 5.5" wide
Availability: Special firing. Limited.
Notes: The curves are different shades of blue, and colours may not be exactly as photographed. Please add a note to your order if you have a colour preference, or would like to see photos of the ones I have left.
