Shipping Information

Shipping Information | The Glass Bakery

Handcrafted fused glass birds shipped with care across Canada from my studio location in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.

How long will it take to process my order?

I carefully package each order and usually have it ready for the courier within 2–3 business days of receiving your payment. The courier typically collects within 2–4 business days of your order, though this can occasionally take a little longer in my rural area. If there’s an unexpected delay, I’ll email you with an update. Please check your spam or junk folder if you don’t hear from me, in case my message ends up there.

How much will it cost to ship my birds or glass art?

I offer provincial flat-rate shipping across Canada for fused glass pieces. Current domestic shipping rates (before tax) are:

  • Nova Scotia: $16

  • New Brunswick, PEI, Ontario, Quebec: $22

  • Other Provinces: $26

Extra-large, heavy items, or shipments to remote areas may incur additional fees. If that applies, I’ll contact you to confirm and approve the final shipping cost. Please note, shipping charges are subject to tax

US Shipments: Please note, that currently international shipment to the US isn't possible.

How will my glass bird or art be shipped?

Within Canada, your order will be usually shipped from the Nova Scotia studio via a courier service. For orders sent to a PO Box, Canada Post will need to be used instead unless you've listed a civic number.

You’ll receive a tracking number from the courier to monitor your shipment. Sometimes tracking updates take up to 24 hours to activate.

Shipping does not include insurance unless it's an approved wholesale order. If you'd like your gifts to be insured or faster delivery, please email me directly. You can pay the additional amount by e-transfer (preferred) or credit card.

Do you offer international shipping?

Please email me to ask if I can ship to your country.

Unfortunately, I'm temporarily no longer shipping to the US. The changes to the rules, regulations and tariffs have become complicated and I have limited resources to fully comprehend the legalise and make sure the paperwork is compliant to avoid delays for you and penalties for me. There seems to be no desirable option.

Shipments outside of Canada. There are customs restrictions on wood products which make it difficult to ship birds with wooden perches outside Canada. Therefore, I ship hanging birds and glass art without wood internationally. You're welcome to purchase a perched bird minus the wood part.

All customs and duty fees and related charges for international shipments are the responsibility of the recipient.

Please note, international parcels will usually be sent via courier. This means that additional charges will apply that aren't necessarily reflected in the automated cart. If you email me, I'll give you the shipping costs to the US via courier.

Shipping Insurance & Liability

The Glass Bakery is not liable for lost, missing, or delayed packages. If you want to protect your order with shipping insurance, please request it when ordering, and contact me to send the additional payment.
