Hairy Woodpecker (Dryobates villosus)
Glass Art Hanging Glass Ornament
The Hairy Woodpecker is a true favourite with birders and non-birders alike! He's a favourite here in the studio too! Hairy Woodpeckers are the largest of our two woodpeckers in Nova Scotia. Cute, never pushy on the feeders, and it's a treat to watch the gentle-hearted males feeding the babies! I can also appreciate his penchant for peanuts.
