Hairy Woodpecker  (Dryobates villosus)

Glass Art Hanging Glass Ornament

The Hairy Woodpecker is a true favourite with birders and non-birders alike! He's a favourite here in the studio too! Hairy Woodpeckers are the largest of our two woodpeckers in Nova Scotia. Cute, never pushy on the feeders, and it's a treat to watch the gentle-hearted males feeding the babies! I can also appreciate his penchant for peanuts.

Hanging Woodpecker Details

  • Handcrafted in Nova Scotia using fused glass (no paints, glazes or molds)
  • Hanging Hairy Woodpecker sun-catcher/Christmas Tree or window ornament.
  • Artisan Studio-Glass made in Nova Scotia
  • Size Approximately 4.5-5 " for adult, 3.5-4" for chick
  • Photos are for guidance only, though your bird will look similar. As it's handcrafted glass art, there will be minor variations in colour, tone and shade.
  • The direction the bird is facing varies.
  • Fused glass has a front and back. The front is glossier and has more detail.
