About
The Glass Bakery - Fused glass birds, Handcrafted in Nova Scotia.
About
Glass Artisan Cara Wedgbrow established The Glass Bakery in 2010 in St Margaret's Bay. The studio is now based in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.
Living with and loving a dog is a life shaping experience. A Belgian Shepherd was the catalyst for The Glass Bakery, and his passing led to the glass birds.
The Glass Bakery was the original creator of fused glass birds in Nova Scotia. The birds stand out as high quality, cheerful, whimsical ornaments and meaningful gifts.

Nature, Dogs and Birds
A connectedness with nature and wildlife, and a strong affinity with dogs remains the motivation behind The Glass Bakery® gift collections and company values. The Glass Bakery actively fundraises for Canadian dog charities by donating a portion of sales and from payments made via e-transfer.
Glass Birds in Annapolis Royal
After 14 years fusing glass by the sparkling waters of the St Margaret's Bay, Nova Scotia, The Glass Bakery relocated to the town of Annapolis Royal. Annapolis Royal is a vibrant, historic town in the beautiful Annapolis Valley adjacent to the Bay of Fundy.
Although the quaint artisan studio shop no longer exists, The Glass Bakery's birds continue to be sold in gift shops and galleries both in the Town of Annapolis Royal, and in Nova Scotia as a whole. The special glass birds are also available from select gift shops around the Maritime and Atlantic Provinces and Ontario.
